I’m Heather

You deserve expert, individualized support from a leader in reproductive and perinatal mental health.

With over two decades of experience, I’ve dedicated my career to working with individuals navigating the emotional complexity of fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, postpartum transitions- including Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders-and the evolving demands of parenthood.

As a recognized specialist, a Canadian therapist, and the founder of one of the largest reproductive and perinatal mental health clinics in Canada, Bloom Psychotherapy, my work is sought out by those who are looking for depth, precision, and a higher level of support.

My private coaching is designed for women who are no longer looking for surface-level support, but for clarity, stability, and a way to move forward when things feel internally complex.

This is not about adding more information.

It’s about helping you:

  • make sense of what’s happening underneath

  • navigate high-stakes emotional and relational decisions

  • regain a sense of clarity, confidence, and internal steadiness

This is structured, high-level work designed to meet you where you already are.

I know firsthand how complex and multifaceted the transition to parenthood can be.

I’m a mother of three, and I’ve also lived through infertility, loss, postpartum anxiety, and medical trauma- experiences that deeply inform how I work.

Not in a way that replaces expertise, but in a way that sharpens it.

Alongside this, I’ve spent years working closely with individuals navigating:

  • fertility treatments and reproductive decision-making

  • pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and birth trauma

  • postpartum anxiety, depression, and identity disruption

  • the relational strain that often follows these transitions

What I’ve come to understand is this:

Very little of what women struggle with in these seasons is about not knowing what to do.

It’s about the internal and relational systems shifting- often without being named, understood, or supported.

That’s where my work focuses.

Fertility & Reproductive Transitions

Struggling to conceive is not just a medical process. It’s an emotional, psychological, and deeply personal experience that unfolds over time.

You may be:

  • trying to conceive without answers

  • navigating repeated loss

  • in the middle of IVF, IUI, or other assisted reproduction

  • working within a complex medical system while managing uncertainty

  • holding hope and grief at the same time

What makes this particularly difficult is not just what’s happening externally,
but what it creates internally.

The waiting.
The decision fatigue.
The shifting expectations of what your life may look like.

My role is to help you stay grounded inside that.

Not just to cope, but to:

  • process what’s happening in real time

  • make clear, aligned decisions

  • move through this without losing yourself in the process

Pregnancy, Postpartum, & Early Motherhood

The perinatal period is one of the most significant identity transitions a person goes through.

And it’s often treated as if it should be intuitive.

You may be:

  • pregnant and navigating anxiety, uncertainty, or past trauma

  • processing a difficult birth or medical experience

  • adjusting to postpartum life and not feeling like yourself

  • noticing shifts in your relationship that you can’t fully explain

  • carrying the mental load of parenting while trying to stay afloat

What I see often is this:

Women continue to function.
They manage.
They show up.

But underneath, something has shifted.

My work is not just to support you through this period, but to help you understand what’s happening internally and relationally as it unfolds.

So you can:

  • stabilize your experience

  • reduce overwhelm without bypassing what’s real

  • rebuild a sense of clarity and self-trust

  • move forward in a way that actually feels sustainable
